Incredibly rare necklace by renowned Cochiti Pueblo artist Joe H. Quintana (1915-1991), who also made Jim Morrison’s famous concho belt. This necklace was likely made in the early 1950s. Handmade bezels and clasp, some handmade beads and some bench beads (bench beads likely added at a later point during a restringing of the piece and are now a part of the necklace’s history). Unstabilized turquoise has begun changing colors, which is highly desirable by collectors. In perfect condition and signed by the artist. Weighs 114 grams. Wearable length is 18.5” and the largest center tab measures 1.5” tall x 2.5” wide.
