An extraordinary one-of-a-kind sterling silver and 14K gold necklace by celebrated Zuni artist Myron Panteah (1966–2016). Panteah was known not only for his exceptional metalwork, but for the imagination, humor and sense of discovery he brought to his jewelry. This remarkable, completely handmade necklace is a true example of that philosophy. It features five individually created removable pendants, each rich with intricate stamped, etched, textured and applied details accented in 14K gold. Every pendant can also be worn independently as a pin/brooch, allowing the necklace to be worn with all five pendants, any combination of them, or without the pendants entirely. Even the chain and clasp are handmade.
A third-generation jeweler, Panteah learned his craft from his father and grandmother and later studied through Duane Maktima’s Pueblo V Design Institute. He deliberately resisted developing a single recognizable style, preferring to continually experiment and keep collectors wondering what he would create next.
